Hey Hanna!

There's a beautiful girl named Hanna attending summer camp this week, so this morning for devotions we talked about Hanna from the Bible.  You can read the story in I Samuel 1-3.  Hanna was sad because she couldn't have children.  Instead of whining and complaining over her sadness, she decided to pray to God.  She prayed an awesome prayer that was written down in the Bible!  Hanna was faithful, soooo...

God gave her a son whom she gave back to God.  His name was Samuel.  He served God at the temple.  When times became hard, Samuel continued to serve God.  One night God called on Samuel, and Samuel said, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."  After that Samuel became God's prophet - a person who speaks God's truth.  Samuel was faithful, soooo...

My question is: am I faithful to the Lord like Hanna and Samuel?  Boys and girls, do you and I pray rather than complain?  Do we listen to God and obey, even when its not easy?  And isn't it interesting that Hanna's faithfulness was passed on to her son, Samuel?  That's what I'm talkin' about!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach us to pray and obey and always follow Your way!

Proud of you!
